About Me
Interior designer serving homeowners and design studios
Background
I grew up in Duxbury on the South Shore of Massachusetts and studied Interior Design at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. As the daughter of a historical-restoration carpenter, I developed an early appreciation for old homes, thoughtful craftsmanship, and interiors with a sense of history.
After college, I moved to Los Angeles, where I spent four years working across hospitality and residential design. Now back on the South Shore, I’m growing Ainsley May Interiors, working directly with homeowners to create personal, character-rich spaces, while continuing to provide trusted freelance support to design studios nationwide.
My approach is rooted in clear communication, thoughtful concepts, storied materials, and reliable follow-through. Whether I’m helping a homeowner shape a space that feels distinctly their own or supporting a design team behind the scenes, I bring the same level of care and intention to every project.
Working style
Thoughtful, organized, and highly collaborative. For residential clients, I take the time to understand how you live, what you’re drawn to, and what will make your home feel genuinely personal. I believe the most meaningful interiors balance beauty and function while feeling collected rather than prescribed.
For design studios, I adapt to your established templates, standards, and workflow, communicate early, and deliver dependable support that helps your team work efficiently and present its best work. In every collaboration, I believe a positive, solutions-oriented approach makes all the difference.
A small personal detail
My dog Renzo (named after the architect Renzo Piano) usually supervises from a sunny spot while I build palettes and presentations. Off-hours, it’s beach walks, exploring antique malls and vintage shops for treasure, and spending time with family and friends!
